A brief introduction to Zapier integration

ServiceM8 enables you to take advantage of using a web app integrators such as Zapier.

Zapier is an web automation app which allows you to connect and automate business workflows across supported cloud-based apps. This means you can build your own customised connections between supported apps, without needing to hire an app developer.

Zapier is a combination of trigger and action to connect apps together are called ‘zaps’.

The first part is the Trigger. Is an event that sets your zap in motion.

These certain events in ServiceM8 can trigger actions in other apps you’re integrating ServiceM8 with:

  • New job
  • New client
  • ServiceM8 form completed

The second part is the Action. Is an event that is completed in the second app automatically.

These ServiceM8 events can be triggered by events in other apps:

  • Create job
  • Create client

You can mix and match triggers and actions to automate certain tasks or workflow in your business.

So, you really need to plan it out and figure out the appropriate trigger and action to be used for your zap to automate your business tasks.

For example, if you want to monitor your field staff dealing with high risk job safety form issues. Using Zapier, you can trigger an automated process that will send you an email immediately once your field staff completed a certain form.

How it works:

1. Simply select a form in ServiceM8 to be used as a trigger

2. Select outbound email in Zapier to be used as action

3. Test and save it.
