How to import/export Services

This lesson will show how you can share your Services using Import and Export functions.

Go to Settings, click Services

To export, tick one or more Services

A Service must be Published before it can be exported. The export file will contain the Service exactly as it's published.

Note: Changes made after publishing will not be included in the exported file.

Click Actions and select Export

Click Download

A file with extension *.SM8s will ba saved on your Computer.

Note: Exported Services do not include the details of which staff can perform the service (as staff are not shared across accounts). After importing the service, you will need to assign staff in the "Scheduling" settings of the service to allow online bookings to work.

To import, click Import Service

Browse and select an *.sm8s file generated using export function

Once exported it will now listed in your Services

Note: When a Service is imported, it will be imported as a non-published Service. It must be published before it can be used by Staff or Customers.

Materials: if required Materials already exist in the account, the service will be linked to the existing material. Otherwise, the import process will attempt to find a material with the same Item Number. If that does not exist, a new Material will be created in the account from the data in the import file.

Tax Rates for imported Materials: if required Tax Rates already exist in the account, the service will be linked to the existing Tax Rate. Otherwise, the import process will search for a Tax Rate with matching Name and Amount and will use that if found. If not found, the default Tax Rate will be used instead (the import process will NOT create new Tax Rates).

Badges: if required Badges already exist in the account, the service will be linked to the existing Badge. Otherwise, the import process will search for a Badge with a matching Name. If not found, that badge will be ignored (the import process will NOT create new Badges).

Categories: Same as Badges.
