Many clients get a little anxious about their booking time, and feel uncertain about planning their day. When and how you arrive can set the tone for their entire experience with the business. This is why it's a good idea to use 'On the Way' texts to let clients know you're en-route, which includes an auto-calculated Estimated Time of Arrival.
When you’re ready to head to the job, tap Start Job, then Navigate to job, and provided there’s a mobile (cell) number against the client, you can tap ‘Notify Client’ to send them an SMS that you’re on the way, including an ETA:
The Track My Arrival Add-on goes a step further, enabling you to provide customer's a link to a live map portal, where they can track the progress of your staff member as they travel toward the job location:
This live map feed is only available to customers while you are 'Navigating' to their job in ServiceM8, and deactivates shortly afterward.
How do you use Track My Arrival?
Activate the Track My Arrival Add-on in Settings > ServiceM8 Add-ons:
Once activated, Track My Arrival will just start to work. When ServiceM8 has a GPS location of your iOS device at the time of sending the 'On-the-Way' text, the special link will be automatically added to the end of the SMS.
