How do I activate automatic credit card surcharging?
If your business is in Australia, from 1 October 2026 card networks will no longer permit you to pass on card processing fees as a surcharge for payments accepted through ServiceM8 Pay or the legacy Stripe Payments add-on. ServiceM8 will stop applying these surcharges, but card processing fees will still apply and will be paid by your business.
You do not need to turn off card surcharging yourself. If you have not already turned it off, ServiceM8 will stop applying it automatically on 1 October 2026. See How to prepare for card surcharge changes in Australia.
Where card surcharging is available, go to Settings > Preferences > Invoicing > Card Payments in the Online Dashboard, choose how you want processing fees handled, and save.
