How do I pass on Stripe credit card payment processing fees as a surcharge?
If your business is in Australia, from 1 October 2026 card networks will no longer permit you to pass on card processing fees as a surcharge for payments accepted through the legacy Stripe Payments add-on. ServiceM8 will stop applying these surcharges, but card processing fees will still apply and will be paid by your business.
You do not need to turn off card surcharging yourself. If you have not already turned it off, ServiceM8 will stop applying it automatically on 1 October 2026.
Where card surcharging is available, go to Settings > Preferences > Invoicing > Card Payments in the Online Dashboard, configure your surcharge settings, and save.
