# Can ServiceM8 restrict technicians to checking into jobs only when they are on site?

> Find out whether ServiceM8 can restrict technicians to checking into jobs only when they are on site.

For staff using the iOS app, ServiceM8 can automatically **Check In** and **Check Out** based on GPS and job location, and you can review arrival and departure history in the **Job Checkout Report**.

ServiceM8 does not have a documented setting that prevents a technician from manually checking into a job before they arrive on site.

If your goal is accountability, use **Automated Time Tracking** on the iOS app, accurate job addresses, and the **Job Checkout Report** to review recorded movements and on-site time.
