# How do we use Queues to track the status of jobs?

The four job statuses in ServiceM8 (**Quote**, **Work Order**, **Completed**, and **Unsuccessful**) are fixed and cannot be customised. Queues are used to manage jobs that are waiting on something before scheduling or completion.

It is important to note that Queues are not designed to be a general filing system for custom sub-statuses, project stages, major clients, or other permanent grouping structures.
