# Can ServiceM8 automate job status changes or workflow steps?

> Find out whether ServiceM8 can automate job status changes or workflow steps.

ServiceM8 can automate parts of a workflow, but not every workflow is handled by a single built-in status rule.

Some status-related actions happen automatically in specific workflows. For example, accepted quotes move from **Quote** to **Work Order**, and queued jobs are removed from queues when they are scheduled, **Completed**, or **Unsuccessful**.

For broader workflow automation, use the **Automation** add-on for routine communications, or an integration such as **n8n** if you want to trigger actions when job data changes.
