# Who owns my ServiceM8 account and its data?

> Find out who owns your ServiceM8 account and its data in ServiceM8.

You own and control your account data, not ServiceM8.

The Account Owner as indicated in your Online Dashboard login (Settings > Staff) is the sole owner of the ServiceM8 account and its data. Ensure the email address and mobile number attached to the Account Owner are secure and appropriate for the ownership and control of the ServiceM8 account.
