Quoting jobs is vital for keeping new work coming in, and invoicing is vital for getting paid and maintaining healthy cash flow. But these tasks can be time consuming and often get put off. ServiceM8 makes these tasks faster and easier with Auto-Quote and Auto-Invoice. This feature leverages the power of AI to analyse the job card, learn how you price jobs, and draft a description of the work completed and items to charge for - in seconds! Auto-Quote and Auto-Invoice are available on both the Online Dashboard and the ServiceM8 iOS mobile app. ## Optimising Auto-Quote and Auto-Invoice Think of Auto-Quote and Auto-Invoice like a highly effective office assistant - but one who can only react to what's on the job card. Keeping ServiceM8 up to date as you work will ensure that the quotes and invoices generated are as accurate as possible, saving you a huge amount of time and effort. **For the best results:** * Save good job descriptions * Use checklists * Add job notes * Track your time on site * Record videos with a voiceover describing the work to do/work completed (which will be automatically transcribed and saved to the job's Diary) * Email and text clients via the job card - this keeps the correspondence housed in the job's Diary * Send your supplier invoices into ServiceM8 (see the [Supplier Invoice Import Add-on](/help-center/servicem8-add-ons/servicem8-add-ons/how-supplier-invoice-importing-works)) * Standardise your list of Materials and Services - do your best to avoid creating new custom items per job **Note:** * Auto-Quote and Auto-Invoice cannot add [Bundles](/help-center/servicem8-add-ons/bundles/how-to-use-the-bundles-add-on). * This feature draws from the current job card and similar past jobs for insights. As a general rule, you'll need to have completed at least 100 jobs in your account before Auto- Quote and Auto-Invoice can generate reasonable results. The more jobs you have completed, the more powerful this feature becomes. ## Using Auto-Quote and Auto-Invoice [From the Online Dashboard](#to-automatically-draft-a-quote-or-invoice) | [From the iOS app](#from-the-ios-app) ### Online Dashboard 1. Open a job card in the Online Dashboard and click **Billing**. 2. Click the *Billing Workflow* dropdown in the top right. 3. Click **Auto Quote** (or **Auto Invoice**, depending on the job's Status). ServiceM8 will analyse information available in the job card, as well as what was invoiced for similar jobs, then draft a description of Work Completed and create a list of Materials & Labour for your review. Make any additional changes needed, then send via email and SMS to your client. ### iOS app 1. Open a job card in the iOS app and tap **Billing**. 2. Tap **Start Auto Quote** (or **Start Auto Invoice**, depending on the job's Status) tap Start Auto Quote in the iOS app blank 3.
