# Getting started with ServiceM8

> Set up your ServiceM8 account and learn the basics.

Follow these steps to set up ServiceM8 for your business. You can complete this in about 30 minutes.

    Sign up at [servicem8.com](https://www.servicem8.com/register) or through the iOS app. The setup wizard walks you through your business details, logo, and preferences.

  <Step title="Add your staff">
    Create logins for everyone who will use ServiceM8 — office staff and field techs. Each person gets their own login with a security role that controls what they can access.

  <Step title="Choose your invoice and quote templates">
    Pick a template that matches your business. You can add your logo, banking details, and terms and conditions.

  <Step title="Connect your accounting software">
    Link ServiceM8 to Xero, QuickBooks Online, or MYOB so invoices and payments sync automatically. Skip this step if you do not use one of these packages yet.

    Bring in your existing client list and materials/price book from a spreadsheet. This saves you from re-entering everything manually.

    Follow along as we create a job, schedule it, complete it in the app, and send an invoice. This takes about 10 minutes.

    Read through the full job lifecycle walkthrough. Understanding the four job statuses (Quote, Work Order, Completed, Unsuccessful) is the most important concept before going live.
