Does your email address in ServiceM8 look strange?
When you first set up your Sign in with Apple functionality within the ServiceM8 mobile app, you may have opted for the Hide My Email setting.
This is a privacy setting Apple offers for users who are unfamiliar with an application. It creates an intermediary email address, formatted as [RandomText]@privaterelay.appleid.com, to relay communications between you and ServiceM8.
If you send a client an email through ServiceM8 while this privacy setting is enabled, the client will still be able to see your name and your company name, and respond to your email.
If you want to change your Apple private relay email address, you can. To do so, follow this procedure to change your login email, then, if applicable, continue with the next section to reset your Sign in with Apple functionality.
Resetting your Sign in with Apple functionality
If you originally opted for Hide My Email but later changed your Apple private relay email address in ServiceM8, Sign in with Apple will stop working.
You can either use your new email and password credentials to sign in to ServiceM8 mobile app or, if your new email address and your Apple ID are the same, you can reset Sign in with Apple.
To reset Sign in with Apple on your mobile device:
- Open the Settings app, then tap your name.
- Tap Password & Security.
- Tap Apps Using Your Apple ID.
- Tap ServiceM8.
- Tap Stop using Apple ID.
- You can now follow the regular process to enable Sign in with Apple, but select Share My Email. See Enabling Sign in with Apple for more information.
