The Weekly Job Summary report tells you at a glance whether you're getting ahead or falling behind on your jobs.
The report provides the following information:
- New Jobs: number of jobs which were created since the report was last generated
- Completed Jobs: number of jobs whose status changed to "Completed" since the report was last generated
- Active Jobs: number of jobs with status of "Quote" or "Work Order" (regardless of creation date)
How to interpret the Weekly Job Summary report
The Weekly Job Summary report can be used for two main purposes.
First, it gives you a quick indication of the volume of work being done by your business. You can compare this to previous reports to get an idea of whether work is slowing down or picking up.
Second, comparing your New Jobs to your Completed Jobs tells you if you're getting ahead or falling behind. If you're getting more jobs than you can complete in a given week, you may need to review your business processes or hire more staff. The Active Jobs count is an indicator of the history of your New versus Completed jobs -- if you consistently get more new jobs that you can complete, the Active Jobs number will continue to grow.
