How do I use Booking Reminders?

This lesson will teach you how to turn send an email reminder 24 hours prior to a booking and an SMS reminder 8 hours prior to a booking. This lesson assumes you have already activated the Booking reminders Add-on.

First we need to set how early to remind the client. Click Settings

Click Preferences

Select Automated Reminders

Set 'How many hours prior to booking should SMS reminder be sent?' to remind 8 hours

Set Email Reminders to 24 hours

At this point you can also edit the message sent to your clients

Click Save

Now we need to set a job to have a reminder sent. Click Dispatch Board

Open the job you wish to set a reminder for

Scroll down the badge list and activate Booking Reminder

Click Save

Finally, we will schedule this job.

That's it. This customer will now receive an email reminder 24 hours prior to the booking and an SMS 8 hours prior to the booking.

When making the booking it's important to note the following rules surrounding when it will send an email or SMS.

SMS Reminders:

  • SMS messages are only sent between 8am and 9pm (reminders after 9pm will be sent 8am following day).
  • Bookings scheduled within reminder time-frame will not receive SMS.

Email Reminders:

  • Email reminders are sent regardless of time of day.
  • Bookings scheduled within reminder time-frame will not receive email.
