Can I set job numbers manually rather than automatically?

No, ServiceM8 doesn't support user-defined job numbers.

There are numerous benefits to having ServiceM8 automatically allocate your jobs numbers for you. You will not have duplicate jobs because of staff mis-communication or staff in multiple locations booking jobs at the same time.

However, depending on your requirements, you can adjust the automatic job number to suit your business — you can set the next automatic job number, or add prefix or suffix characters to your job numbers.

To set your next Job Number, login to your Online Dashboard and click this link to start the Next Job Number wizard

 Keep in mind that you can only go to a higher number. If you set your number too high you won't be able to reset it to a lower number.

To set a Prefix or Suffix to your Job Numbers, login to your Online Dashboard and click this link to start the Job Number Prefix/Suffix wizard.

  • Prefixes can contain letters, numbers, dashes and underscores .
  • Suffixes can contain letters, dashes and underscores.
  • You can have up to 4 characters total across prefixes and suffixes.
